Internationally-acclaimed violinist Lizzie Ball, together with the talented singers Clare Lloyd-Griffiths and Andrew Ashwin, join the Derbyshire Singers to present an evening of music by Brahms and Bruch at Highfields School in Matlock.
Lizzie will perform Bruch’s best-known work, his Violin Concerto No 1, while Rebecca and Andrew join the Derbyshire Singers to perform Brahms’ Requiem. Brahms’ Academic Festival Overture completes the programme on Saturday, March 21.
Despite her international touring schedule Lizzie Ball still feels her heart is firmly rooted in Derbyshire.
“I think my childhood in Derbyshire gave me such happiness and a grounded approach to life that it prepared me well for a career in an industry that can be challenging at times.”
She has developed a unique musical ‘brand’, combining classical with rock and jazz, and in her 20 years as a professional musician she has performed at venues across the globe with artists as diverse as Nigel Kennedy, Ariana Grande, Liam Gallagher and The Sixteen, and she has appeared as a headline artist in the legendary main room of Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, with her Classical Kicks Production.
