Belper Arts Festival may have only just finished for 2019 but plans are already under way for 2020.
The 200th anniversary of the birth of Florence Nightingale is to be celebrated by the festival with an ambitious initiative.
Kissing Miss Nightingale’s Shadow is a one-woman play written by George Gunby, the director of Belper Arts Festival. Performances are already scheduled at Lea, where she lived, Belper and Derby during the Festival of 2020. However, George has a wider ambition and wants to organise 200 performances of the play to take place at the same time on May 12 2020.
The licence to perform the play and music will be £30 with profits going into educational initiatives organised by Belper Arts Festival.
