Derbyshire writer and musician Matt McGuinness, will be performing his show We Are What We Overcome on a 14-date tour across the country this year.
This one-man performance is an intimate, heartfelt conversation, punctuated with uplifting, anthemic original rock and roll tunes.
With stories shedding light on mental health, peppered with self-deprecating honesty and dark humour, this is especially for anyone who has ever overcome one of life’s many challenges or is battling to do so.
An integral part of the show is the space allowed afterwards for discussion and questions in the form of a Q&A and/or an informal chat in the bar.
The show has support from Mind, the Samaritans and the Mental Health Foundation which are providing information on the points of contact and support available to those struggling with mental health issues.
This tour aims not just to portray Matt’s story, but to encourage others to tell theirs by bring local communities together to make connections and new friends.
You can see it at No28, The Market Place, Belper on February 23.
