This Christmas, Haddon Hall will be bringing the nation’s most beloved fairy tales to life with its most prominent rooms decorated to represent different scenes from them, offering visitors a truly enchanting and memorable festive experience.
Haddon Hall, which has stood for over 900 years, will take visitors on a journey to the Far Away Land, showcasing fairy tales that are beloved the world over.
With joyous music performed by local community choirs every day in the Banqueting Hall, daily storytelling hosted in the Parlour, glistening lights and wonderfully decorated Christmas trees throughout the house, visitors can take an entrancing journey from one room to the next.
Guests will walk into The Banqueting Hall to find overgrown rose briars and a fully laden banqueting table frozen in time, The Kitchens will play host to both ‘Cinderella’, whose stepmother, jealous of her charm and beauty, forces her to serve the household, as well as ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’.
The Orange Chamber will be transformed into a shoemaker’s workshop for the ‘Elves and the Shoemaker’, The Great Chamber will also stage ‘Cinderella’ and guests will enter an enchanted forest housed within the Long Gallery, to find Sleeping Beauty’s bed.
In the quiet of the evening, the much-loved Candlelight Tours will offer a different take on the Hall’s Christmas façade by candlelight, and will allow a glimpse into its nine-hundred-year history, steeped in the engravings, tapestries and art adorning the walls. The festive tours begin with a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie before embarking on a truly beautiful roam through the Hall with a knowledgeable guide. All tours need to be pre-booked, which can be done online.
Open daily until December 23, feasting, fun and festivity can also be enjoyed by all with the Haddon Restaurant and Haddon Marquee.

“Our Candlelight Tours always delight visitors, and provide a great opportunity to see the Hall in a different light, while the Artisan Market keeps improving year on year to offer a wealth of fantastic, unique gifts.
