QUAD in Derby will be offering the chance to try out the ancient art of Well Dressing in June.
The venue will be holding free Well Dressing Workshops led by Spiral Arts to create six community Well Dressings for the City.
Well Dressing is a tradition practised in the county in which wells, springs or other water sources are decorated with designs created from flower petals, foliage and natural materials such as beans, seeds and small cones.
The theme of this year’s Well Dressings will depict places along the Derwent Valley such as the World Heritage Mills and buildings, nature reserves with flowers and birds, and historic towns to visit along the valley.
Open to anyone, there is a chance to just watch the making of or to help to create the Well Dressings at four drop-in workshops in QUAD on; Monday June 25 from 2pm-4pm, Tuesday June 26 from 4pm-6pm, Wednesday June 27 from 2pm-4pm and Friday June 29 from 12pm-2pm.
The drop-in Well Dressing Drop in Workshops are free and open to anyone, for more information: email firstname.lastname@example.org call QUAD Box Office on 01332 290606 or go to https://www.derbyquad.co.uk
