Exile Music Festival is probably the best kept secret in Derbyshire.
Nestled in a beautiful wooded valley, on privately owned land, this family friendly music festival takes place from June 22-24 and features an eclectic group of performers such as 3 Daft Monkeys (pictured), Katie Spencer, The Herron Brothers, Loscoe State Opera, Annette Oakes and The Idolins to name but a few.
“Exile Introduces” is Exile’s new initiative to showcase young, upcoming musicians. The six competition finalists will perform on the Sunday afternoon, with the winner receiving a paid gig at next year’s festival.
As well as the music, there’s plenty to do; guided walks with the promise of an ice cream stop en-route, various activities for the children including storytelling, games and a fancy dress parade. Several traders will be present to tempt you with their wares. As usual Oxfam will set up their pop-up shop – a real Aladdin’s Cave of things you absolutely can’t do without.
The bar is hosted by The Fishpond at Matlock Bath, so festival-goers can be assured of a well-stocked, bar.
The festival is at Sabine Hay, off Oldfield Lane, near Darley Dale.
