Bursary award for Smoking Guns

Derby-based Smoking Guns Theatre Company have been named as one of two artistic organisations to be awarded the inaugural ‘Furthest From The Sea’ Artist Bursary.

The bursary, made possible through generous support from Arts Council England, will aid in the creation of two new pieces of street theatre to be debuted at this year’s ‘Furthest From The Sea Festival’ in Derby’s Cathedral Quarter on Saturday June 16.

Smoking Guns Theatre Company, comprising of Andy Mandoiu, Fatih Göksu and Harry Smith, will be performing ‘The Eccentric Director’ an ode to Hollywood directors such as Stanley Kubrick and Quentin Tarantino who are known for their extravagant and demanding directorial style.

Members of the public will be able to enjoy and interact with the performances at set intervals from 11am till 4pm on June 16 as part of the Furthest From The Sea Festival.

The Furthest From The Sea Festival is produced by Furthest From The Sea Music, Comedy and Arts CIC with support from Arts Council England, FFTS Events Ltd, Cathedral Quarter Derby, University of Derby, Derby City Council and numerous local businesses.
