Years 2, 3 and 4 will meet poet Rachel Rooney, whose poems have been published in several anthologies.

Years 9 and 10 pupils at the city’s secondary schools will also have the opportunity to meet author, Patrice Lawrence whose debut Young Adult novel, Orangeboy won the Waterstones Children’s Book Prize 2017.

Liz Fothergill, Chair of the Festival explained: “The aim is to inspire children’s love of reading by enabling them to meet, and explore the books of, their favourite authors: an opportunity which we believe will stay with them forever.”
