New comic talent to perform at Leicester

Following successful runs at Derby and Nottingham Comedy Festivals, Furthest from the Sea Music, Comedy and Arts CIC will be presenting a selection of the best new and emerging East Midlands comedy talent at The Gallery Venue at Knight & Garter, Leicester for the city’s Comedy Festival in February.

The six-show programme includes: February 9 – Al Grant unleashes Cock-Kane The Clown (UK), an unforgettable evening of macabre magic and musical entertainment, more unsettling than Pennywise and worse for your health than Ronald McDonald – dare you look inside the Magic Box?

February 10 – Stand up and be counted with ‘Stand Up Mi Duck’ – Furthest From The Sea’s annual showcase of brand new comedy featuring first time performers new to the Leicester scene.

February 16 – After a sell-out performance at Derby Comedy Festival, Marshal B Anderson revives ‘The Time Traveler’s Remorse’ asking where did it really go wrong for the human race?

February 17 – LGBT+ spoken word artist and comedian Dan Webber premiers his new one man show ‘Sweargasm’ examining the little frustrations of every day life.

February 22 and 23 – Fresh from Edinburgh, Alex Leam oversees ‘Improv Provocateur – the illegitimate child of improv and stand up’.

All events take place at The Gallery Venue at Knight & Garter and are presented as part of Leicester Comedy Festival 2018.
