Rufus Wainwright chooses Buxton for special gig

Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter and composer Rufus Wainwright is performing one of only two very special gigs in the UK at Buxton Opera House November 18.

He has chosen to perform once in the North and one in the South of England (the Leas Cliff Hall, Folkestone on November 17).

Earlier this year, Rufus recorded a special charity cover of the Stevie Wonder classic ‘Signed, Sealed, Delivered (I’m Yours)’ in aid of The Art of Elysium – listen to the track here

Rufus has released eight studio albums, three DVDs, and three live albums. He has collaborated with artists ranging from Elton John, David Byrne, Mark Ronson, Joni Mitchell to Burt Bacharach.

At the age of 14 he was named Canada’s best young musician and later received the Juno Award for Best Alternative Album. His album, Rufus Does Judy recorded at Carnegie Hall in 2006, was nominated for a Grammy.
