Derby LIVE is staging a host of music shows in Derby this autumn.
First up is Josh Okeefe, who carries southern Appalachian traditional sounds to new urban contemporary stylistic interpretations that leave modern audiences hungry for more.
The folk singer is flying over from Nashville, Tennessee back to his homeland for his first ever theatre performance on September 13 at the Guildhall Theatre at 8pm.
Dreaming the Night Field, A Legend of Wales will be performed by Adverse Camber at the Guildhall Theatre on Friday October 6, at 7:30pm, as part of Derby Folk Festival. Honour, justice, magic and transformation collide in this spellbinding new storytelling and music performance, which evokes the ancient Welsh legend of The Fourth Branch of The Mabinogian.
Derby Folk Festival returns to take over the city once again from October 6-8, with another exciting list of performers.
The line-up is a who’s who from the broad spectrum of folk music and includes Oysterband, Show of Hands, False Lights, O’Hooley & Tidow, Coope, Boyes and Simpson, Kathryn Roberts & Sean Lakeman, Bob Fox, Martin Simpson, Leveret and Winter:Wilson, along with many more great artists.
As well as ticketed events concerts and events, there will be dance displays throughout the streets, and free music performances during Saturday and Sunday as part of the ever-expanding fringe.
For soul enthusiasts, Someone Like You is bound to deliver. Hand-picked by Adele herself on Graham Norton’s BBC Adele Special, the outstanding Katie Markham has the show-stopping voice and captivating charisma to deliver all your favourite Adele hits in an enthralling concert performance at the Guildhall Theatre on November 2, at 7:30pm.
Made up of some of the world’s finest musicians, Creeds Cross play their fantastic new arrangements alongside their very own huge songs, together with some jaw dropping dance arrangements performed by the brilliant Maeve McPhillips.
Creeds Cross, The Celtic Journey is a show not to be missed for fans of Celtic rock. It will be performed at the Guildhall Theatre on November 3, at 8pm.
