Secret Postcard Show will aid charity

The Old Lock Up Gallery at Cromford is staging an inaugural Secret Postcard Show, open to both established and aspiring artists, in September.
It is a fundraising show for the future development of the gallery and to raise money for Arts Emergency, which helps talented students from under-represented backgrounds overcome inspirational and practical barriers to flourish as critical, creative adults.
Gallery manager Rachael Pinks said: “All submissions received will be included in the exhibtion, from collage, painting and print through to textiles, sketches and illustration. With the aim of creating a diverse and visually appealing mix of work.
“All artwork will be priced at £15, so this is a perfect opportunity for visitors, friends of the gallery and aspiring art collectors to acquire an original piece of art at an affordable price.”
Postcards/Art work will also be available to purchase online via our Facebook page. 15 per cent of the money raised will go directly to Arts Emergency and the remaining funds raised will be used for the development of the gallery.
Rachael added: “It’s hoped that the postcard show will be a yearly exhibition – where year on year we are able to increase the percentage donated to Arts Emergency until we are in a position to donate 100 per cent of the funds raised to this worthy charity – one can dream!”
