Celebrate Valentine’s Day at one of the country’s finest stately homes – Kedleston Hall – and watch A Romantic Affair presented by Lost Boys theatre group, Derby LIVE, Sinfonia Viva and the National Trust.
Enjoy a glass of bubbly on arrival, sensuous cello playing and a fire-lit three-course meal in the sumptuous Caesars’ Hall before journeying through the house to witness the intimate drama of the first meeting between those two great romantic poets and rakish lovers, Byron and Shelley.
The year is 1816 and Lord Byron is about to leave his ancestral home, and his country, for good.
The infamous earl’s departure is interrupted by the arrival of another great, revolutionary poet whose fame has yet to be established.
Fire and brimstone collide as the poets’ brilliance and bravado clash.
There will be two events on Saturday February 11 and Tuesday February 14, at 7pm. For ticket details go to http://www.derbylive.co.uk
