The entire company of Beauty and The Beast are roaring towards their opening night at the Art Theatre in New Mills on Friday, January 27.
With 54 adults and children in the show, this is the biggest panto cast ever at the theatre and rehearsals are in full swing.
Choreographers, Cathryn Yates and Ella Peatfield, have had a ball setting the dances and teaching the cast the routines to all the big production numbers which include both catchy pop tunes and older classic songs.
The story of Beauty and the Beast is set in a French village where handsome Prince Danton is turned into a hideous beast by a wicked sorceress.
The evil spell can only be broken if the Beast learns to love and receives love in return, before the last petal of the Flower Fairy’s rose withers and falls – if not, he will be doomed to remain a beast forever! Who can release the Beast from the spell?
With plenty of jokes and slap stick comedy for young and old alike, singing, dancing and an outrageous panto Dame in full sail – this is classic pantomime at its very best!
TIickets for Beauty and The Beast are on sale now for all performances on January 27-29 and February 3-4.
