Star storyteller for New Year

Christine McMahon performs "The Goosewing" at the Settle Victoria Hall, opening the 3rd Annual Settle Storytelling Festival 2012.

Christine MacMahon is the star guest for the first Matlock Storytelling Café of 2017. She’s a vibrant storyteller with a love of traditional folktales particularly those with a link to her roots, which is a mix of Lancashire and Yorkshire.

She has a ready wit and a warm manner, these attributes mixed with a dollop of Northern grit make her a truly unique performer who tells tales close to home even when she is far away. She is celebrated spinner of yarns, a weaver of tales with an international reputation.

Go and hear her for yourself at the Imperial Rooms, Matlock, on Friday  January  6, 2017. Doors open at 6.45pm for a 7.30pm start. Tickets cost £7 and can be bought by calling Storytelling Café on 01629 580023. Or you can pay on the door.
