Win a place on a musical theatre summer school

Artsbeat and DerbyLIVE are giving one young person the chance to take part   in a week-long series of workshops aimed at improving your musical theatre skills.

The workshops (9am-5pm daily) are being run by Enchanted Entertainment, producers of the Assembly Rooms Easter Pantomimes and many other popular theatre shows nationwide and will centre on singing, acting and dancing performance techniques as well as general stage craft.

At the end of the week, children put all of their hard work into two performances on stage in front of a live audience on Saturday August 20.

The workshop would normally cost £140 but we are offering a place on the course free to one lucky winner who can answer the question below either by replying on Facebook or emailing the answer to editor@arts-beat.co.uk. Please include a telephone number with your entry.

You don’t have much time to enter as the closing date for this is August 10 at 5pm and the course starts on Monday August 15. We will let you know if you have won on August 11.

The question is: Who is playing Buttons in the all-star pantomime Cinderella that DerbyLIVE is staging at Derby Arena this Christmas from December 6-January 3?

The Summer School is about getting young people (aged eight-16) involved in performing, whatever their experience or ability. It is also a chance for them to spend time with others who love singing, dancing and acting.

Enchanted Entertainment will give children an energetic, fun-filled week, learning songs and routines from a variety of well-known West End and Broadway musicals and then performing in the show itself on the final Saturday.
