Navi%20at%20Buxton%20opera%20house%202014Get ready to moonwalk the night away with the world’s number one Michael Jackson tribute artist as the King Of Pop world tour rolls into Buxton.

The incredible show stars MJ performer Navi who is set to take the Buxton Opera House by storm on  January 28 – followed by a string of UK dates before jetting off for tours in the USA, Europe and Australia.

Navi is regarded as the leading and most successful Michael Jackson tribute artist on the planet – a claim that is backed up by an incredible list of achievements chalked up in a career spanning three decades.

Navi’s career highlight came in 2003 when he was invited to perform at Michael Jackson’s 45th birthday party in Los Angeles.

Michael not only applauded Navi for his renditions of Smooth Criminal and Billie Jean, but also went on to give him a standing ovation – an incredible moment which was captured on film.

“To meet Michael was one thing, but to perform in front of the greatest entertainer of all time and to perform his songs was no easy feat and extremely nerve-wracking,” said Navi.

Unbeknown to Navi, the personal highlight of his career was to follow the very next day when he was invited by Michael to visit his home, Neverland – a surreal experience for the tribute.

Navi spent the day with Michael, visited his cinema, his zoo, went on a few of the theme park rides and had a barbecue on the grounds.  “This memory will always be one of my most precious,”  he said.

A working relationship was to continue between Navi and Michael over a period of many years.

Due to his uncanny resemblance, Navi was hand picked by Michael to work for him as a decoy with the role of distracting mobs of fans and press whilst Michael would quietly slip out the back exit of a hotel or concert venue.  Navi was also hired as Michael’s official body double with his image being used for various promotions of tours and album launches.

Since Michael’s death, Navi has continued to work alongside the MJ Estate and has performed his tribute worldwide in a staggering 59 different countries

Talking about the 2016 tour, Navi said: “The show is bigger and better than ever before with a few new surprises.  We hope the fans come and have a great time celebrating Michael’s music with us.”

The show in Buxton will also feature an incredible live band and dancers who assist Navi in recreating all the magical classics – from the Jackson 5 to mega-hits such as Thriller, Billie Jean, Man In The Mirror and Smooth Criminal.

The show starts at 7.30pm.  Tickets can be purchased online at http://www.kingofpoptour.com or http://www.buxtonoperahouse.org
