Spital Arts in conjunction with Live and Local are presenting The Golden Oak – The Magic of British Trees , a celebratory feast of facts, folklore, superstitions, stories and songs about British woodlands by the vivacious and inventive storyteller Cat Weatherill.
It is said that a walk amongst trees is one of life’s greatest free pleasures. A celebratory feast of facts, folklore, traditional village wisdom, curious superstitions, mythology, poems and songs, this hauntingly beautiful storytelling show enlivens the spirit and makes you see trees in a whole new light.
Performed in the enchanting, Sylvan atmosphere of a darkened hall, festooned with green fairylights against a sideshow of gorgeous woodland images by the acclaimed forester Phil HInton this is an immersive and wonderful evening of entertainment.
Cat is a feisty storyteller and engaging performer who has many years of experience performing across the UK, Europe and further afield. She uses her fiery energy and theatrical style to tell uplifting short stories.
