Writer’s Den event in Derby

00861_WE_WriterDen_eshotCalling all diary keepers, list makers, secret scribblers, aspiring authors, story hoarders, journalists, tweeters and future poets.

If you’re aged 9-16, The Writer’s Den is your place to explore, invent, share, laugh, and discover whole new worlds of writing.

Share your ideas with professional writers who will help you bring them to life in two inspiring days of structured creative writing workshops and activities at the University of Derby on June 13 and 14.

A team of published authors will welcome young people to the Writer’s Den, including Bali Rai (author of more than 20 books for young people), Derbyshire’s own award-winning young adult fiction writer Emma Pass, Derby performance poet Mark Gwynne Jones, story-teller and musician Sian Tower, and comic book creator James Parsons.

The event will offer a full weekend of structured creative writing workshops and activities for young writers – creating a space that will inspire the next generation of Derby’s great writers! The Writer’s Den is open to all – no writing experience is necessary, young people are just asked to come armed with their imaginations and a pen.

Advance booking is essential at http://www.writingeastmidlands.co.uk or by calling 0115 959 7929. Single day tickets cost £10, and a combined ticket for the Saturday and Sunday is £16.
