Music Festival plans for Glossop

matthew truscottThis summer’s Glossop Music Festival will be launched on June 24 with a school’s concert with the Glossop Festival String Orchestra directed by Matthew Truscott (pictured).

The concert will include Telemann’s The Frogs featuring 30 violinists from St Luke’s Primary School.

The will perform again the next day with pupils at St Charles School, Hadfield and then for the third time with both schools at Glossop Parish Church at 11.30am on June 27.

On Friday June 26 at 7.30pm, the church will host a performance by the Glossop Festival Orchestra conducted by Christopher George and at 7.30pm on June 27 the Glossop Festival String Orchestra  conducted by George will perform Bach Brandenburg Concerto no.5 and Dvorak Seranade for Strings.
