The Glossop Arts Project is an Arts for Wellbeing Group which runs weekly creative sessions for people with long-term illness, physical disability and mental health problems. Just six months after being launched the group is staging its first exhibition.
The work will be on show to mid-June at Glossop Railway Station in association with Friends of Glossop Station. The artwork on show demonstrates some of the varied techniques and approaches used in the sessions within different media including oil, chalk pastels, charcoal, felt work, wire sculpture and collage.
They have an interesting timetable planned through to summer including watercolours, fabric weaving and print making.
The sessions are free of charge and are held at Glossop Adult Education Centre on Mondays 1-3pm and Fridays 10-12pm. Go to http://www.glossopartsproject.org for more details.
