Shakespeare at Guildhall Theatre this week

henry 2Henry IV (Part II), Shakespeare’s comic, cynical, bawdy presentation of an England in turmoil is being performed by the Derby Shakespeare Theatre Company this month.

It is being directed by David Dunford and he has cast a strong team of actors.

Steve Dunning has returned to the company to play Falstaff.

Chris Scott plays King Henry and Harry Gibson is Henry Prince of Wales (Hal). Both pictured above.

The two main female roles are Mistress Quickly played by Irene Button and Doll Tearsheet, Falstaff’s mistress played by Niki Caister.
There is something in this play for everyone – a piece of English history, bawdy humour, bravery, ambition, treachery, drama and music.

You can see it at the Guildhall, Derby at 7-30pm nightly from today March 3-7. Go to http://www.derbylive.co.uk for tickets.
