Made In Derbyshire 2015

Made_in_Derbyshire_logo_tintThere is a rich history of creativity and innovation in Derbyshire, from Joseph Wright to Well Dressing, the Buxton Festival to Derby Festé and the Format International Photography Festival.

In 2015 we are going to be celebrating all this and more with Made In Derbyshire – a campaign to celebrate producers of arts and crafts, food and drink and even sporting excellence.

All the publicly owned cultural centres – our libraries, museums, art galleries and archives will be involved.

The idea has emerged from work carried out by Culture Derbyshire which is a multi-agency partnership looking at the impact this variety of activity has on the vitality and quality of life for people living here.

The idea is to celebrate life in Derbyshire by nurturing new talent and promoting our unique products to local people and visitors.

Throughout the year existing festivals and events will be linked by this common goal under the Made In Derbyshire brand.

The organisers are billing it as “a stimulating, inclusive, joyous year of celebration”.

As Derbyshire’s arts magazine, artsbeat will be keeping you up to date with everything that is happening culturally in the county and we will have regular updates on Made In Derbyshire throughout the year.

If you have an event planned for next year which you think should be included in the campaign then let us know so we can promote it to our legion of readers across the county, or contact the Derbyshire County Council arts team by emailing arts.team@derbyshire.gov.uk
