Andy Fairweather Low to play in county

Andy%20Fairweather%201Former Amen Corner vocalist Andy Fairweather Low will be at Pavilion Arts Centre on  November 23 playing with a ‘who’s who’ of the best players on the rock scene.

Andy’s distinctive voice was the perfect lead for the chart topping group Amen Corner which formed in 1966 in Cardiff. When the group split in 1969 he formed Fairweather before achieving solo success with Reggae Tune in 1974.

Andy also sang backing vocals on The Who’s Who are You album, after filling in for Pete Townsend during the making of It’s Hard.

Since then he has worked with some of the world’s leading rock stars including Joe Satriani, Roger Waters, George Harrison and Bill Wyman. In 2011 he was the support act for Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood’s Royal Albert Hall gig in London.

His current band, The Low Riders, is a musical collaboration with of some of the best players on the rock scene including Paul Beavis on drums (Thea Gilmore, Robbie Macintosh) and Chris Stainton (The Grease Band, Joe Cocker, Eric Clapton) on keyboards.
