QUAD in Derby has reached its fifth Birthday today and has organised a week-long celebration to share with its customers.

As a thank you to customers, all QUAD standard cinema tickets for films screened from Friday September 27 to Thursday October 3 (inclusive) will be just £5.

QUAD will be celebrating today with a ‘Time-Travel Season’ Launch Party and Exhibitions Opening Event in the venue from 6:30pm – 9pm.

There will be free events and activities in QUAD throughout the evening, including the official opening of the installation Monocular4 by Lindsay Seers in QUAD Gallery and Event Horizon in QUAD Extra Gallery Spaces.

Since opening in 2008 approximately 1.4M people have visited the QUAD building; over 1,600 different films have been screened and 30 exhibitions shown; QUAD has provided active participation in workshops and education activities for approximately 23,000 school children and young people.

As a registered charity and not-for-profit organisation, QUAD has ‘broken even’ every year since opening and enlisted as patrons John Hurt CBE, John Tams, Paddy Considine and Jack O’Connell.

Keith Jeffrey QUAD CEO said: “We are tremendously proud to have reached this landmark anniversary. Thanks to the loyalty of our customers and support of our main revenue funders Arts Council England and Derby City Council, QUAD has surpassed our expectations and established itself as a vital creative and cultural hub for the region.”
