The Belper Arts Collaborative have been working on an new exhibition called the Whispers of Autumn which is hoping to be shown at three venues in the town through the season.
Artists from the town have been invited to produce a 10″ x 10″ piece of work by collaborative member Suzanne Parnell one of the owners of the recently opened Cherry Orchard Gallery in Belper’s Market Place.
The exhibition will open at the gallery on September 3 and run there until September 28. The collaborative then plan to stage the exhibition at Strutt’s North Mill in October and another venue in November.
Suzanne said: “We are expecting to get between 20 and 25 pieces and will be exhibiting it on the Cherry Orchard exhibition wall throughout September. We have had a tremendous response to the exhibition and there will be works by Jenny Oldknow, Gareth Buxton, Jenny Aitken and Ruth Gray amongst many others.”
There will be more details and a review of the exhibition in the next issue of artsbeat magazine.
