P1060543Artists Rachael Pinks and Clay Smith will be hosting their fourth art exhibition at the Old Lock Up Studio in Cromford on Saturday July 13.

Salon 4 is a one-night only event when they transform the studio into a unique gallery space which will be showing the work of 12 contemporary artists.

The previous Salon exhibitions have been have seen up to about 120 visitors and have been a huge success. The doors will open at 6.30pm.

“Our Summer show has a diverse range of work on show and we start preparing the studio and transforming it into a gallery space today,” said Rachael in her blog on Wednesday.

The work on show ranges from paintings, prints, vessels, sculptures and a piece of work by Hazel Green entitled Together We Fall.

She has wrapped cotton strips dipped in clay slip around the carcasses of pheasants. They have then been fired in a kiln and the bodies have been burnt away resulting in amazing ceramics.

Other artists exhibiting at the show apart from Rachael and Clay are Dermot Punnett, Pauline Woolley, Deb Allitt, Heather Duncan, Ann Bates, Walt Shaw, Amanda Collis and Lester Wright.
