Neville, Gordon, Angus and Roy, four forty-something men from the Penine Spring Water Company, have all been sent on a middle-management team-building exercise in the Lake District. But Neville, the reluctant team leader, has managed to crash their boat and maroon them all on Rampsholme Island in the middle of Derwentwater … and when they discover there might be a homicidal lunatic loose on the island, humorous irritation turns into hysterical panic!
Neville’s Island was first produced at the Stephen Joseph Theatre, Scarborough, enjoyed a successful West End run at the Apollo Theatre. and was subsequently made into a TV play with Martin Clunes and Timothy Spall. This all-new production stars Mark Homer as the hapless Neville and Ian Sharrock as the joyously unpredictable Gordon.
Mark is best known for his role as Tony Hills in EastEnders, while his other TV appearances include Casualty and Silent Witness.
Ian will be hugely familiar to audiences from his ten years as Jackie Merrick in Emmerdale; his other TV appearances include Heartbeat, The Bill, Casualty, Where The Heart Is and – perhaps most memorably – as Jed Maxwell, Alan Partridge’s biggest and most scarily obsessive fan in I’m Alan Partridge.
There are performances each evening at 7.30pm and a Saturday matinee at 3pm. Tickets can be booked by calling the Chesterfield Theatres box office 01246 345 222 or book online http://www.chesterfieldtheatres.co.uk.
