ARTSBEAT DANCE: Fourteen local dance artists will take part in an intensive three-day residency with renowned contemporary dance duo Company Chameleon, before joining them on stage in a professional performance.
Derbyshire Dance Artists Network and Déda have joined forces to offer the professional development opportunity to dance artists from the region.
The group will work intensively with artistic directors Anthony Missen and Kevin Edward Turner to create a curtain raiser to accompany the duo’s performance of Pictures We Make on Saturday February 23 at Déda.
Pictures We Make will showcase a newly commissioned work by acclaimed choreographic duo and Place Prize nominees 2012 Goddard Nixon.
Eden is a powerful and poetic exploration of an internal world where intense obsessions are revealed and enduring relationships signal hope.
For the second part of this double bill, company founders Anthony and Kevin present a new creation, Pictures We Make.
Sourced from stories and experiences from the long-shared history of the performers the piece questions our relationships with ourselves and with other people. Renowned for their partnership as a male duo, for the first time Company Chameleon will be expanding from duet to quartet for both of these works in the double-bill.
Company Chameleon perform Pictures We Make at Déda on Saturday 23 February at 8pm.
Tickets are £10 (£8 concession) and are available from the box office on 01332 370911 or online at http://www.deda.uk.com.
