Artsbeat is out

front for promosThe first artsbeat magazine has arrived back from the printers and will be out across Derbyshire and the Peak District by the weekend (weather permitting).

Make sure you pick up your free copy so you don’t miss out on features on fireman-turned-artist Martin Davis, willow sculptor Rachel Carter, folk duo David Gibb and Elly Lucas, landscape photographer Richard Wheeler and a young film maker called Louis Vella. You will also be able to discover the story behind the bronze wildlife sculptures of conservationist Eddie Hallam and the textile recycling art of UnMade In England’s Amanda Whewell.

On top of all of that there are also regular slots for the theatre, cinema, music, and books – this month’s featured author is Emma Woodcock, of Long Eaton.

QUAD at Derby has teamed up with artsbeat to give away five pairs of tickets to the cinema and there are eight pages of what’s on listings as well as a Q&A session with Derbyshire’s poet laureate Matt Black.

Artsbeat will be available in art galleries, cafes, bars, restaurants, gift shops, arts venues and more, throughout the county. If you can’t find one, email editor@arts-beat.co.uk and we will sort it out.
