Chekhov classic on stage in Derby

uncle vanyaAshrow Theatre return to Derby LIVE’s Guildhall Theatre next Saturday with a production of Uncle Vanya by Anton Chekhov.

Deep in the Russian countryside, an isolated household’s rich owner returns for a short spell of recuperation. But what happens when they appear and break the monotony?

What does a girl do when she discovers that the man she loves is in love with someone else? What does a man do when he discovers his employer is planning to make him redundant and homeless? What does a young woman do when her husband’s become frail before his time and has everyone else falling at her feet?

(The revolver is in the kitchen drawer…)

In this brand new adaptation, Chekhov’s classic addresses love triangles, adultery, money, morality, self-worth… to name but a few.

Tickets for the show, which runs until Friday January 18, are priced at £13.25, concessions £11.25 can be purchased through the Derby LIVE box office on 01332 255800 or online at http://www.derbylive.co.uk
