A packed spring season full of inspiring performances from professional companies alongside a dynamic class programme to get the whole family dancing into the New Year has been announced by Déda in Derby.
Déda’s adult class programme is the ideal way to get you moving again after the festive season, with fun and friendly classes. StreetFit® is the perfect class for getting into shape, comprising short street dance routines which are designed to target and tone a different area of the body. And the Ashtanga and Iyengar Yoga classes are the perfect antidote to the stresses of the Christmas period and will leave you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.
The dance centre will again be collaborating with Derby Theatre to present a week of dance at the venue including Interface 13, the annual youth dance showcase, featuring talented young dancers from across the region.
Later that week, National Dance Company of Wales take to the stage to present a triple bill of work including Dream, an acclaimed piece inspired by the 2012 Olympics from former Artistic Director of Rambert Christopher Bruce.
Other highlights include Company Chameleon’s brand new work Pictures We Make presented in collaboration with Derbyshire Dance Artists Network and featuring local dance artists performing alongside the company. The Dance Artists will work with the company in a three-day intensive to create a curtain raiser for the show.
Contemporary dance fans should also look out for iconic choreographer Wendy Houstoun performing in April and former Déda artist Tom Dale and his company performing brand new work Refugees of the Septic Heart in March.
