Jack O’Connell is QUAD patron

Derby-based actor Jack O’Connell has become a Patron of QUAD. Jack has links with QUAD having introduced screenings of Private Peaceful and Harry Brown at the venue.

Jack O’Connell’s feature film roles include Harry Brown, Private Peaceful, This Is England, United, Weekender, Tower Block and Eden Lake. He is well known as one of the characters in the TV series Skins, and has also appeared in Waterloo RoadWire in the Blood and The Runaway.

 Jack O’Connell commented:  “I am very pleased to have been asked to work with QUAD as a Patron. I am Derby born and bred and proud of my city and what it has to offer, QUAD is a massive part of that and does many things which are close to my heart.

“I am hoping to work with them to help reach even more young people through their education and participation work including the programmes of work they currently run with some of the most under privileged parts of the community.

“QUAD’s support of independent cinema and local people interested in the film industry is something which is an inspiration to many and I am proud to now be a part of that.”

 Jack O’Connell joins QUAD Patrons; Actor John Hurt CBE, Actor / Director Paddy Considine and Actor / Musician John Tams. Adam Buss, QUAD Director of Audience Engagement, said: “Jack O’Connell is an incredibly talented actor with a great career ahead of him who is very proud of his roots in Derby.
