The Re-entrants to perform at Assembly Rooms

Derbyshire based The Re-entrants are due to perform their unique show at Derby LIVE’s Assembly Rooms on Friday  December 7.

From ABBA to Gaga, Motorhead to Madonna, the Re-entrants somehow manage to get in all the hooks, riffs, solos and vocal harmonies with nothing but two voices and two ukuleles.

Their abilities on the instrument belie its cute appearance and music hall associations, and whilst the audience may laugh at two large men with such tiny instruments launching, arms windmilling, into a rock classic, the laughter soon turns to applause and heads shaken in disbelief!

A Re-entrants show is all about fun (both Phil and Ian have a wicked sense of humour) and often involves ukuleles played behind the head, rapping and sexy (!) dance routines, but at the same time the music is note perfect as huge guitar solos, piano arpeggios and synth riffs are wrung out of eight tiny nylon strings, all without the aid of electronic effects or backing tracks. They can fill the largest festival or theatre stage with their presence as well as their sound.

Tickets, priced at £13.25, concessions £11.25 can be purchased at the Derby LIVE box office on 01332 255800 or online at http://www.derbylive.co.uk
