Surreal narratives with a music hall edge

Mark Gwynne Jones, as heard on BBC Radio 4’s Wondermentalist Cabaret, will host a live performance and workshop at QUAD this week.

Observing the connections between clocks, cats and light bulbs, his new show is entitled Just for a Moment…. ‘This is it!’

Mark says: ” All that exists is this moment…and, of course, the 1001 things you’ve invented to distract you from it.”

Well known for surreal narratives with an almost music hall edge, the five-times fringe award winner, invites you to feel the moment in a mind-altering show that’s both funny and thought provoking.

Described as “Inspired” by The Guardian and “Astonishing” by The Daily Mail, Mark will perform Just for a Moment… on Saturday November 17 at 7pm. Tickets are: £8 or £7 concessions.

Mark will also be hosting an afternoon workshop – Creating Visual Metaphors – which will explore the sounds of words, how and why we think in pictures and games to unlock the imagination. This fun, creative workshop is aimed at providing inspiration for budding writers, performers and poets but is open to anyone aged 14 years and above and runs from 1pm until 3:30p. Tickets are: £6 or £5 concessions.

Those purchasing tickets for both workshop and performance events can do so for the special offer price of £12 or £11 concessions.

For more information on both events, or to book seats please see or call QUAD Box office on 01332 290606.
