Private Peaceful (12A) is based on the novel by Michael Morpurgo, whose book War Horse was also successfully adapted for the big screen.
The film is also set during World War I in the fields of Devon and on the battlefields of Flanders.
George MacKay takes the lead role of Tommo Peaceful as he navigates the pressures of family, shared love for the same girl as his brother Charlie, as well as the horrors of war.
Derby’s Jack O’Connell stars as Charlie Peaceful, along with a cast which includes Richard Griffiths, John Lynch, Frances De La Tour and Maxine Peake.
Jack O’Connell will be introducing Private Peaceful at 6:15pm, the film also screens in QUAD on Friday November 9 and Monday November 12. Tickets are: £7.40 and £5.75 concessions.
