Bearded Theory Festival looking for artists

If you are an artist looking for a community project to inspire you then you might be interested in this one for next year’s Bearded Theory Festival.

The Derbyshire festival, based at Kedleston Hall, is the largest performing and creative arts festival in the Midlands area and the organisers are currently recruiting art groups, artists and art students to help transform the  site for the 2013 event.

They are looking for groups and individuals to come on board and work under their own steam and imagination to create sculptures, decorate and transform the site.

There are a number of ideas being mooted already  including decorating trees, sculptures, creating gardens with wooden fences, peaceful areas, creating a front room from junk for the camp site, a woodland walk decorated with lights and artwork

They have a small budget to work with and they are asking that artists send a proposal to outlining: ideas, a quote for services including materials and any initial health and safety information.

Bearded Theory is a three day music festival which famous for it’s love of beards, every year the festival attempts to break the world record, for the most amount of people wearing a fancy dress beards in one place and at one time.

The first 2013 acts announced are Maroon Town, Gallon Drunk, The Zen Hussies, The Caezars, Tankus The Henge, The Men That Will Not Be Blamed For Nothing, Buster Shuffle, Left Step Band, Port Erin, The Membranes, Boot Hill All Stars, Bootscraper, The Bakseats, Frenzy, and Sunday Driver.
