Solo dance performance at Deda

Antonia Grove in Small Talk at Deda.

Antonia Grove of Probe Dance Company will perform a full-length solo at Deda, in Derby, on November 9.

Small Talk has been choreographed for her by contemporary dance icon Wendy Houstoun and in her performance Antonia embodies the personae of a series of American movie actresses whose words are fed to her through earphones.

In a succession of staged attempts, she persistently tries to fulfil the chameleon’s desire to be all things to all people. As she becomes increasingly illusive and unpredictable, you will witness her rollercoaster journey through states of control, being controlled and losing control in this brave, compelling, funny and darkly disturbing performance.

“It is virtually impossible to take your eyes off Grove… this mistress of disguise will set your pulses racing” Bristol Culture

“She really is good… You can’t take your eyes off her.” **** Evening Standard
