The magic of Sleeping Beauty is being brought to the Assembly Rooms in Derby next week.
The Russian State Ballet and Opera House brings the delightful ballet classic to Derby LIVE’s venue on Saturday October 27 at 7.30pm.
Composed in 1889 and still scored to original music of Tchaikovsky, Sleeping Beauty remains one of the most well-known and loved ballets of all time. It was first performed at the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg in 1890 and is, as we all know, a story of eternal love and romance.
The world famous Russian State Ballet and Opera Theatre of Komi have been delighting audiences since 1958. They are renowned for their ballet and opera masterpieces. The Russian State Ballet and Opera House has ensured that this classic ballet remains just as spell-binding as it was when it was composed over 130 years ago.
Alexej Ignatow, the producer for Amande Concerts said: “We take pride in introducing new ballet companies and thoroughly enjoy bringing them to perform to audiences across the UK. This will remain a big part of our strategy for years to come, setting us apart from others.
“When you see the Russian State Ballet and Opera House logo, you can be sure of the quality of our productions. We endeavour to bring different artists every year. This means that although you may have seen Swan Lake one year, our performance the following year will contain different sets, costumes and choreography. It will feel like a different show altogether.”
Tickets for the Assembly Rooms performance are priced at £23.25, concessions £21.25 and are available from the Derby LIVE Box Office on 01332 255800. Go to http://www.derbylive.co.uk for more details.
