Art in unusual places is definitely trending at the moment and at the forefront of the idea is the Belper-based group Corridor Arts.
In July it staged an Arts Trail through the town with the artists involved using the historic mill as inspiration and this week the two people behind the project, Andrew Martyn Sugars and Christine Gray, have launched next year’s plans.
They have now put a call out to artists via a youtube video inviting submissions to be part of the trail which has the working title of “The Journey of Favourites”. The deadline is March 10 at 8pm.
The trail was set up to be an extension of Belper’s food, real ale and craft festival and the artworks are displayed in shops, offices and even salons around the town. It provoked a lot of interest this year and they hope to build on that in 2013.
